Welcome to the Federation Website

There is lots of information of interest to Wingers on this Website – please feel free to explore.   Click on the row of words (called Buttons) immediately below the Title Banner to access a wealth of reference material.  Use the second row of buttons to access more topical pages. The Site Map also provides a useful index.

The Federation of United Kingdom GoldWing Clubs exists to help owners, riders and anyone else in UK who is interested in GoldWing motorcycles to enjoy their hobby. It is:

  • a Club of GoldWing Clubs, so it’s a national umbrella organisation
  • a source of free and low cost services and facilities for Clubs and for individual Wingers
  • a way of finding and forming GoldWing Clubs and related organisations
  • a way for GoldWing Clubs to share ideas and to co-operate in organising events and other activities.

But the Federation is not a ruling body and it doesn’t tell anyone what they can and cannot do. Clubs which affiliate retain their independence in all respects.

An important aim is to help Wingers find and form GoldWing Clubs. They might be local area clubs or special interest clubs, when a particular aspect of GoldWings is more important than where its Members live.  For example, there might be a club for restoring Classic Bikes or a Club for touring a particular area like the Alps.

So there are no unnecessary rules or restrictions. The Federation will try to help with any GoldWing Club or activity as long as it’s legal and decent, whatever it might be. No type of activity or event takes priority over any other; it’s all about freedom of choice.

The Federation is primarily a Club of Clubs but it also welcomes Wingers as Individual Associates too. And they get the same personal benefits from the Federation as Members of Affiliated Clubs.

The Federation also provides free services for the GoldWing Community, such as the All Clubs Events Calendar on this Website. This lists as many GoldWing meetings, activities and events as possible.

It is run by a small team of volunteers, so it has a low cost basis.   Bob Summers is Chairman, Dave Turvey is Vice Chairman, Stuart Ormerod is Secretary and Jeff Thornton is Treasurer.  The Webmaster is Nigel Mackintosh.

The Federation also joins with and co-ordinates Clubs to organise larger events – including the annual Blackpool Illuminations GoldWing Light Parade, the UK’s brightest and best GoldWing Event.
