Joining as an IndividualThe Federation is primarily a service organisation for GoldWing Clubs, so a Club of Clubs, but there is also provision for individuals to join the Federation if they wish, for example if there is no Club in their local area or to suit their particular special interest.
Becoming an Individual Associate is primarily a way of putting yourself in touch with potentially like-minded Wingers, so there’s really no point in doing it unless you are willing to allow your contact details to be made available to other Wingers for that purpose. Personal details are not displayed publicly but the Federation maintains a database of Individual Associates as a means of putting them in contact with each other (and with Members of Federation Club Members, who are also automatically eligible to be Individual Associates) when it is their mutual wish. More about how that’s done later.
Individual Associates pay a joining fee but there is no annual subscription; once you have joined you remain an Individual Associate for as long as you wish.
In return for the Joining Fee you are sent Federation Regalia to the full value of the joining fee, so joining is effectively free.
Individual Associates may also attend the Federation’s own Events as of right but note that these are usually open to all Wingers anyway and there is no right of admissionby virtue of being an Individual Assoiciate to events organised by individual clubs, even if they are affiliated to the Federation. Clubs are independent and they decide for themselves who to invite to their events – although in practice many of them will welcome all comers.
There are other benefits and for example as an Individual Associate you will be able to use the Federation’s Website to publicise any ideas you may have about forming a new Club or organising and event or a tour if you want to.
To join as an Individual Associate all you need to do is complete the on-line application form and pay your joining fee, which you can do by PayPal at the same time. (PLEASE NOTE: The on-line application system is currently being developed and a link to the Application Form will be placed on this Page as soon as it’s available.)
The Federation has no rules but there are expectation of friendliness, so you will be asked to accept the Federation’s Values. The Federation’s Officers are not bound to accept every application and may decline to do so if they consider it necessary.
You are welcome to contact us to ask for further information too if you wish by using the Contact Us facility on this Website. Feedback on whether you have found this Page or any other part of the Website useful would also be much appreciated.
