Management Team Meeting Minutes

Minutes of the Management Team Meeting Saturday 23rd October 2009

Present:  Bob Summers, Dave Turvey, Nigel Mackintosh, Stuart Ormerod

1                     BLP 2009. There was a brief discussion about difficulties with the Parade (fragmentation) and Entertainment at Pontin’s (Noisy Band, faulty PA equipment) but it was decided that further de-briefing should be left to the BLP Organising Team.  Secretary had been trying unsuccessfully to make contact with Knutsford Honda for their feedback for a few weeks (holidays, operation etc) and would continue to try.  The Draft P&L Account for the BLP prepared by the Secretary was accepted.  A decision was made to distribute £600 of the surplus to charity, £400 as a grant to GNWest and £175 to GNWales, the remainder (£183) to be retained by the Federation.

2                     BLP2010.   The need for an early decision about a replacement venue and earlier and more effective marketing for 2010 was recognised but again it would be left to the BLP Organisers to address these challenges.

3                     Website Strategy.  The roles (and hit rates) of the Fed/Club/BLP/Blog websites was considered to be satisfactory.  Stuart was encouraged to make more use of the Fed website to announce Fed developments, rather than leading with a Blog Article.

4                     Sponsorship.  The Secretary reported that although Knutsford Honda has not yet paid the annual sponsorship amount which had been discussed, it was still a prospect, which he would pursue.

5                     Regalia.  It was agreed that Affiliated Clubs may make free use of the Fed Badge on any Club regalia which they sell (i.e. which also bears Club badges) but that the Fed would sell purely Fed Regalia (inc HiViz surcoats) itself on line.  Secretary and Webmaster to implement on line sales asap.

6                     Management Team Re-Structure.   Dave offered to step down as Joint Chairman to become Vice Chairman, to allow Bob to take more of a lead and this was agreed.  A proposal to invite Jeff Thornton to be Fed Treasurer (Stuart to continue as Secretary) was agreed.  (Postscript Note: Jeff has been approached and has accepted.)
